Pão E Água aka I Cuss Some More

The resources exist to ensure everyone has access to healthy food. The reason everyone does not have access to healthy food, is because the people who control the resources wake up every day and intentionally ensure they don't. Any other excuse is just deflection from that point. Any other excuse is a bullshit deflection from that point.

There are people in this world who could wake up tomorrow and decide everyone should eat, and it would happen. And afterwards, they would still have more wealth and resources than they could possibly ever use. It is not by accident that they haven't used their resources to ensure everyone eats. It's not something they intend to get around to but keeps slipping their mind. They would rather children starve than to give up any portion of what they have. And the proof is they could easily give a portion of what they have and no children would starve, yet they don't. It is their choice, their preference.

Interesting fact, if a child is hungry it is in no way their fault. A lot of people like to suggest that maybe their parents should do more, work harder, earn more. That's because a lot of people are really, deep down, pieces of shit. A child's worth as a human being and whether or not they deserve a steady supply of healthy food is not based on their parentage. In fact, an adult's worth as a human being and whether they deserve a steady supply of food is not based on their ability to earn. They exist. They are human. They should have food. That's basic humanity, anyone who would offer a counter argument should be ignored on the basis of their lack of basic humanity.

1.5 million empty homes in the US and they're steady building more. Half a million homeless. The resources exist to solve the issue. The will does not. The people with the resources have decided homelessness is not a problem worth solving if it means giving up even 1/1000th of what they have. Better to remove public restrooms and other conveniences from cities to prevent them any comforts, so they're more likely keep themselves out of sight.

How the fuck is this the reality we live in? That's basically the extent of my political theorizing. Looking around going what the fuck, how did fuck did we get here, fuck this.

To me, every time a politician makes any statement other than, "there's starving kids and we could feed them, but no," is just distracting everyone from the fact that people are starving and it's not a primary issue and no politician will admit it's a decision they help make not to take care of them. The only statement any politician should be making is, "there's starving people so let's fix that," until there are no hungry people. And the same with the homeless.

Instead we're dropping bombs on Somalia. Millions of dollars in bombs. 3/4ths of Somalia is starving and we drop enough money in bombs to feed them all. Instead of feeding them, instead of feeding our own people, we're blowing them up. And no one even talks about it. Why are we killing them? Was it the only possible solution to whatever the problem was? We've been bombing them for over a decade... To what end?

Instead practically every city in the US spends more on police than every other country (minus China in some cases) spends on their military. Our solution to poverty was literally declaring a war on the poor and sending in an occupying army. In urban areas. We don't talk about rural poverty, not really. Just like no one talks about how many missing people are probably the victims of the people we ask to find them, and that's why they are never found.

Pão e água. Bread and water. Food for everyone. Anything less is a failure of humanity. Clean water. A home. Why is it extreme or radical to say everyone should have a place to live, simply because they exist. No more reason needed.

So do we take from people like Bezos, who earned his wealth, and give it to other people who don't? Well, for starters, the state and federal governments give Amazon tax breaks that basically subsidize the direct pay their workers get. And since the vast majority of employees need some form of welfare to be able to afford to go to work, the people of the US fund Amazon's workforce, allowing the company to be what it is today. Not Jeff Bezos. Then there's the fact that the system we have in place allows wealth to create more wealth basically just by existing, which is where a lot of his (and every other billionaire's) fortune comes from. So the start of his wealth was largely from not paying his workforce, leaving it to the government, until his fortune grew to the critical mass point where it's just going to keep growing by virtue of its size.

Also, Amazon could not exist without the USPS. Without government funded roads. And airports. Without the government assisting internet providers in bringing the internet to more homes. Without an endless amount of work other people did, that created the infrastructure Amazon used to exist and grow. Walmart is a very similar story. Many of the rest of the richest people in the US made their money by taking advantage of others. When the stock market and housing markets crashed in 2008, the average person lost 40% of their worth, meanwhile the rich took advantage of the situation and got much much wealthier in the long run. As forty million people got laid off due to a pandemic, US billionaires wealth increased dramatically. So my political and economic theories are intertwining what the fucks. Because what the fuck.

So do we take from people like Bezos? Yeah. Because fuck 'em. They literally could wake up tomorrow and end hunger. World wide. Clean water to everyone. Safe housing to everyone. They could do that and still be obscenely wealthy. They intentionally choose not to. It is a choice they make.

Is it socialism, is it communism, I really don't care. If kids go hungry because adults are scared of the word socialism, then fuck those adults their opinion doesn't matter. If people have to live on the street because other people are afraid actual meaningful change that would help them could perhaps be defined as a form of communism, fuck those other people. It's time to stop caring what they think. People with no compassion for others have made enough bad decisions for all of us, and that has to stop. Notice neither major candidate for president has offered any solutions for the current food deserts across the US, much less what we could be doing to help those in other countries? Fuck them and their parties.

Pão e água. Bread and water. Food for all. Clean water for all. Only a controversial statement because too many people are garbage. And we should stop giving people who are garbage the space to speak, especially as elected officials. It really is that simple and there really is no justifiable counter argument, only distractions and deflections. It's time to shut down people who lack basic human decency. It's time they stopped poisoning how we view each other. No billionaire is more deserving of their wealth than any other person is deserving of basic human necessities.
